You know the “this is fine” meme? The one with the dog sitting in a chair while the room burns around it? Well, it’s been over a decade since that meme came out, so I thought it deserved a refresh for 2026.

Rather than sitting with their hands in their lap, the dog is now leaned back on the chair, legs crossed, far more comfortable. Also, the dog is smoking instead of drinking coffee. Finally, the giant flames on either side have subtle, anguished faces, because memes are the safest way to engage with dark themes. If you’re worried you’re reading too deep into this art, you’re not. If anything, you could probably afford to read deeper into it.
