This was a commission for some folks who, as you can imagine, do Taekwondo and have a pet dog and a pet cat, and I’m glad they asked me to make it.

There were three main challenges to designing the Taekwonpets. First, I needed a single structure that I could turn into a dog or a cat without major modification, because I didn’t want them to be too different from each other. Second, the artwork needed to coherently balance both the animals and the idea of Taekwondo, which is not a straightforward task. Finally, the design needed to be simple enough to teach to relative beginners, because it’s always more fun when you can fold it yourself.

Will I ever release diagrams for these furry friends? No idea.
